GB Short Track Speed Skater Jack Burrows lived up to his nickname this weekend by taking the 500m gold medal in Torino, Italy at ISU StarClass 6, which took place 17th - 19th February. It’s a distance that the British junior record holder excels in and it’s his second gold medal of the season.
Congratulations to our six GB skaters who all achieved top ten finishes at the Bavarian Open this weekend.
This week six GB skaters are competing at the Bavarian Open in Oberstdorf, Germany.
New Adult Open Competition !!
Due to the shortage of Adult competitions NISA has added Gold, Silver, Bronze and Pre Bronze Adult Open Categories in Singles, Couples Dance and Solo Dance to the format at the British Adult Championships (27th -30th April 2017 at Ice Sheffield) .
These new competitions are intended for those that do not qualify for the British Adult Championships themselves. The age categories are as per Club Adult Opens and there are no citizenship or qualification criteria. Skaters are expected to enter themselves into a category appropriate for their current level of skating. Skaters will be able to use the scores from these competitions for qualification to next seasons British Adult Championships.
GB skater Harry Mattick takes top spot at Sofia Trophy, Bulgaria
Congratulations to Harry Mattick, two-time British National Medallist, who took first place in the Senior Men Category at the Sofia Trophy in Bulgaria last week with a fantastic performance.
Also taking part In the Junior Ladies was Genevieve Somerville who finished 11th and Advanced Novice Ladies was Phoebe Winser who finished in 8th place.
A huge well done to all skaters!
GB Short Track Speed Skater, Charlotte Gilmartin has just picked up her second bronze medal of the ISU World Cup series 2016/2017. The event this weekend in Minsk, Belarus was the 6th and final world cup of the season.

This weekend sees one of the highlights in the UK skating calendar hit Dumfries, with over 50 Synchronized skating teams battling for success at the Trophy d'Ecosse.
