The European Championships for Speed Skating (Long-Track) are being held this weekend in Russia, and our very own Gemma Cooper will be competing in the Mass Start event.
She qualified with GBR's first ever points in the World Cup Series in Mass Start, this happening at the event in Calgary, Canada at the beginning of December.
She now goes head-to-head with Europe's best in the final on Sunday, 7th January 2018.
UK Long-Track is starting to get something of a reputation for the Mass Start, with our first ever World Cup medal coming in the Neo-Senior Mass Start at the Junior World Cup event in Inzell in November 2017. A full write-up of that event, including detail to the amazing development and progress of the programme can be found here
NISA wishes Gemma all the best, and is incredibly proud of the development of Long-Track Speed Skating over the past few years.
