GB’s best aim high in Ostrava

This week, the ISU European Figure Skating Championships arrive at Ostrava, Czech Republic, and Britain’s best will be aiming to make their mark against Europe’s elite.

Representing GB in the Senior Men’s is British Senior and Junior Champion, Graham Newberry. Graham heads into the competition in fine form, scoring excellently in recent weeks and narrowly missing out on a medal at the Mentor Torun Cup earlier this month.

In the Senior Ladies, British Champion Natasha McKay, who won gold at last week’s Skate Helena, will be looking to skate to the same high standards in Ostrava.

Zoe Jones and Christopher Boyadji (pictured) will be flying the flag for GB in the Pairs. Zoe and Chris have recently set up a Facebook page where you can keep up to date with the pair, click here for more.

We have two couples competing in the Ice Dance category. Current British Champions Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, and runners-up Robynne Tweedale and Joseph Buckland will be taking to the ice in Czech Republic.

Lilah and Lewis last competed at the Santa Claus Cup in Budapest where they won a silver medal. The couple will be hoping for a similarly successful skate this week. Robynne and Joseph were at this month’s Mentor Torun Cup, finishing in 6th place at the competition.

The ISU European Figure Skating Championships run from 25th – 29th January 2017.

Live updates will be posted on NISA social media throughout the competition.

Full results and starting orders will be published here.
