GB Short Track switch blades for wheels, pedalling 80 km for charity event Right To Play

On Sunday 9th August and hot off their return from summer training camp in Germany, Elise Christie, Richard Shoebridge, Jack Whelbourne, Billy Simms and Richard’s Dad Paul Shoebridge will join over 2,000 riders raising money for Right To Play.

Right To Play is the official charity of the Rise Above Sportive, a 80km, 120km and 185km bike ride across Cheshire, Chester and North Wales. The team are passionate supporters of this amazing charity which works to help children overcome the effects of poverty, disease and war, all through the educational power of sport, games and play.

Helping the team get into gear will be fellow charity ambassador and Professional Road Racing Cyclist, Mark Cavendish MBE.

Ahead of the day, we spoke to Richard Shoebridge who said:

“I am really looking forward to taking part in the Rise Above Sportive. We’ve been busy with pre-season training so this is a great way for us to unwind away from the ice and support an amazing charity all at the same time.”
