Ice Skating Season to begin with IJS Sheffield next week

Skaters from all over the UK will be taking to the ice next week for IJS Sheffield from the 22nd to 26th August at iceSheffield arena. The competition will see skating talent from basic novice levels through to seniors, and will provide opportunity for the skaters to qualify for the National Championships at the end of November.

Among those participating will be two time British Senior Men Champion Phillip Harris, as well as local skater Peter Hallam (both pictured) who finished in first place in the Senior Men category last year. The competition will also see the return of Christopher Boyadji to the ice with his new skating partner Zoe Wilkinson in the Senior Pairs category.

IJS Sheffield is one of the first events of the season, where skaters will be debuting new choreography ahead of the international competitions which begin next month. The skaters, some of whom may have moved up a category from last season, are hoping for a positive start to the year with strong performances over the five day competition.

You can see a full list of skaters competing here, where results will be updated throughout the competition.
