Jayne Torvill OBE works with British Champions ahead of World Figure Skating Championships

Last Thursday was a special day at Alexandra Palace. Jayne Torvill OBE, who, with Christopher Dean, won the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics and the bronze medal at the 1994 Olympics, came in to work with our British ice dance champions heading off to Worlds.

Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, British Senior Dance Champions and Sasha Fear and Elliot Verburg, British Junior Dance Champions, were honoured to spend the morning reviewing their programmes with Jayne and fine tuning ahead of their competitions later this month.

Next weekend, Sasha and Elliot will be travelling to Taiwan for the Junior World Figure Skating Championships and later this month, Lilah and Lewis will be travelling to Finland for the World Figure Skating Championships.  Both teams train at Alexandra Palace with Karen Quinn and Alan Abretti and in Montreal, Canada with Romain Haguenauer, Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon.

The teams were thrilled to have the chance to work with Jayne and to benefit from her unparalleled experience ahead of their important upcoming competitions.
