With a long list of roles and achievements in her life, Maggie Worsfold now has another to add after being appointed as Chairman and President of NISA.
From competiting at Junior level in singles to serving as an ISU Championship Referee officiating at World Championships and the Grand Prix Final, skating has been a large part of her life. She has served ont he Murrayfield Ice Skating Club Committee and the Scottish Ice Skating Association. She was the Chair of the NISA Figure Technical Committee before the restructure of the Board and its sub-committees.
Since then, she has also served on the Board as Technical Director, Judges and Officials Director and now as Governance Director - all alongside a 40 year career in NHS Scotland, most recently as a senior manager in NHS Scotland Counter Fraud Services. Ms Worsfold said;
"Having been involved in ice skating for such a huge part of my life, I am delighted and privileged to have been elected by the Board as Chairman and President of NISA. This is a challenging time with many demands on us all, but the Board is fully committed to moving our sport forward.
"I am looking forward to working with the Board, our CEO, Jackie Sheldon, NISA employees, our volunteers and our many stakeholders to modernise our sport.
"We have many priorities, including the delivery of improved services and communications for members, improved governance and the further development of our atheletes, coaches, officials and programmes and I am confident that these can be achieved with the skills, experiences and knowledge of all those involved."
