The National Ice Skating Association (NISA) would like to remind all members of the Association of their right to attend, participate and vote at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Nottingham on Saturday 16th May.
At this year’s AGM there are two sets of conflicting proposals to amend the Articles and General Rules of the Association.
It has been confirmed by the UK Sport Governance Team that during the next calendar year, NISA must be able to demonstrate the following:
It is vitally important for the NISA membership to vote in favour of the proposals set out by the Board of Directors in order to continue to satisfy the funding triggers laid out by UK Sport above and to continue to move forward with our approach to Safeguarding developed in conjunction with the NSPCC.
The proposals tabled by Alistair Wilson oppose these items and we urge NISA members to vote against these proposals.
We would very much like to see as many of you as possible on Saturday 16th May, but understand that this is not practical for all. In such circumstances we would like to encourage our membership to vote by proxy, by completing all THREE PROXY FORMS to:
1) Support the Board’s proposals;
2) Reject Alistair Wilson’s proposals;
3) Approve the agenda items.
Further details of voting by proxy can be found here. Please note closing date of proxy votes is Wednesday 13th May at 5.00pm.
Further details of the meeting, including agenda and proposed changes to the Rules and Articles are available for viewing on the NISA website here.
