Last week NISA skaters represented Great Britain from Basic Novice to Senior in the 11th Avas Cup in Hungary.
Greig Smith and Daniel Weston were the male skaters representing Great Britain in the Advanced Novice Boys and Basic Novice Boys categories. Both skaters finished victoriously in first place, Smith with a score of 75.30 and Weston with a score of 39.05.
It was also a successful weekend for the ladies. In Amy Morris achieved her first international bronze medal in Basic Novice A, with fellow skaters Miesha Cooke Smith and Jasmine Cressey placing 6th and 8th respectively in the same category.
In the Senior Ladies category, Rowena Mackessack-Leitch placed 4th with a score of 101.47, missing out on a top 3 finish by just one point. Frances Howell and Jodie Adderley placed 6th and 8th respectively.
Elsewhere in the competition saw Lydia Smart in Junior Ladies and Maeve Hastings in Advanced Novice Girls both finishing in 6th place in their categories. Advanced Novice Girls skater Shelby Simmers finished in 11th place, just missed out on a top 10 finish with a score of 64.76.
It has on the whole been a great weekend in Hungary for our NISA skaters and we would like to congratulate all those who took part.
