The NISA Board has said farewell to Hilary Selby and Avril Jones as they both attended their final Board meeting on 30th May 2018, having reached the end of their terms of office.
Hilary has served on the Board for nine years and during this time she has stood as both Performance Director, and Chair of the Association. During her tenure she has been a dedicated supporter of the Athletes and has continually promoted the best interests of the sport. She has brought an exceptional knowledge of Ice Dance and her calm reasoning has been a strong asset to NISA at meetings and through the difficult challenges that have been presented in recent times.
Avril was appointed as an Independent non-executive director (INED), for HR in May 2017. She was the Senior INED on the Board enabling NISA to fulfil this requirement for the Code for Sports Governance. Avril has guided NISA through a change management process within the organisation and has diligently supported the Association during a significant period of change.
Both Hilary and Avril will be missed on the Board but we do know that Hilary will still be involved in skating within the ISU and at a national level. Additionally, we wish Avril well in her future undertakings, wherever these may be.
On behalf of the Board and the NISA membership, I would like to thank both Hilary and Avril for their valued contribution to the Board and to the Association.
Maggie Worsfold, Chair of the NISA Board
