Twenty-three GB skaters head to the Volvo Open Cup

We have an amazing 23 skaters representing Great Britain at the Volvo Open Cup in Riga, Latvia over the weekend.

Competing in the Senior Ladies category are Dundee’s Danielle Harrison and Karly Robertson alongside Nottingham born Nina Povey. Danielle and Karly will be hoping to continue their fine form after strong performances in the Finlandia Trophy. Nina will be aiming for successive top ten finish after coming 8th at the Coupe de Nice last month.

In the Senior Men’s we have CBBC Ice Star Josh Brown, reigning British Champion Phillip Harris (pictured) and Nottingham’s Charlie Parry-Evans. All three have made strong starts to the skating season and will be looking for more success ahead of the British Figure Skating Championships at the end of the month.

Flying the flag for GB in the Junior Ladies are CBBC Ice Stars Rebecca Gillespie and Kloe Rozgonyi alongside Derby born Genevieve Somerville and Olympia’s Victoria McMahon.

Junior Ice Dance pairs Eron Westwood and Joy Davis, and talented twins Clare and Tom Whalley, will be wishing for strong performances in Latvia.

Lucy Merrilees, Christie Anne Shannon and Emily Spratt will be competing in the Advanced Novice Girls. In Basic Novice B Girls we have Chloe Dempsie and Morgan Dempsie, and competing in the Basic Novice A Boys is Jeddidiah Lincoln. Lily Matthias and Taylor McLeod will be skating in Basic Novice A Girls.

Last but not least, competing in the Cubs A Girls category, is Arabella Sear-Watkins. She rounds off a strong British contingent in Riga.
