Young skate stars play it cool at Christmas Show

Sheffield youngsters marked their development from novice skaters to ice show performers at a spectacular Christmas event.

iceSheffield’s All Wrapped Up festive show cast featured local skaters who have developed through the venue’s Learn to Skate lesson scheme.

They came together with iceSheffield’s GB skaters to perform jumps, turns and spins in a journey through Christmas on ice.

There was also an inaugural performance from cheerleading squad Genesis Cheers and a guest appearance from Santa Claus.

The annual Christmas-themed show was choreographed by iceSheffield coach David Hartley, who is also director of development at the National Ice Skating Association (NISA).

David Hartley said: “I was so proud to see the youngsters who have learnt to skate on our lesson programme take to the ice and put on such a fantastic performance supported by our GB skaters.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for our novice skaters to put into practice everything they have learnt and they certainly did that, creating such a memorable show.”
