British Speed Skating fans have a jam-packed weekend coming up with the final Short Track World Cup of the season being held in Dordrecht, Netherlands and also the penultimate Long Track World Cup being held in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland.
The action kicks off tomorrow for both competitions and our Great British skaters are set for some tasty racing!
In Long Track we have three British athletes competing: Ellia Smeding, Cornelius Kersten and Gemma Cooper.
Both Ellia and Cornelius have had a blistering season so far using their Olympic journey to propel them into the World’s Top 20 and into Division A which is the division that is live streamed on the ISU YouTube channel.
Ellia, coming back with a 3rd place podium finish in the 1000m at the European champs, is classed as a Division A competitor for both 1000m and 1500m will also be skating in the division B race on Friday 10th, in the 500m distance which begins at 12:42 UK time. Her other two distances, 1000m and 1500m, will be streamed live on the ISU YouTube Channel on Saturday 11th at 13:00 UK time (1500m Div A) and on Sunday 12th at 14:17 UK Time (1000m Div A).
Cornelius who is also a Division A skater in the 1000m distance will be skating on Friday 10th, in the Division B 1500m at 15:00 UK time, again on Saturday 11th at 10:09 UK time in the Division B 500 m and at 14:52 UK time in the Division A 1000m, which you can watch live on the ISU YouTube channel.
Gemma Cooper will also be skating for Great Britain in the Mass Start on Saturday which kicks off at 13:00 UK time with the aim to qualify for the Long Track World Championships at the beginning of March where she previously placed 8th in 2021. Gemma is also skating the 3000m B Division at 13:49 UK Time.
Also, this weekend our Short Track performance squad will be in Holland battling it out in the last World Cup of the season. The team consists of Niall Treacy, Ethan Treacy, Peter Riches, Theo Collins, Adam Hill Jr, Holly Hoyland and Charlotte Hayward.

The men will also be skating in the men’s team relay.
