British Royals look to build on Vancouver at World Tour 2 in Montreal
The British Royals are back on the ice this weekend for World Tour 2 of the 2026/27 ISU Short Track World Tour, with six skaters racing at Montreal's Maurice Richard Arena from 30 October to 1 November.
It is a quick turnaround after last weekend's season opener in Vancouver, where the men's 5000m relay team reached the B final to finish seventh overall. Montreal also holds special memories for the team: it was at the Maurice Richard Arena in March that Niall Treacy won World Championship bronze in the 1000m, Great Britain's first short track medal at a World Championships since 2017.
How the weekend works for the British Royals
Qualifying rounds across all distances take place on Friday, with repechage sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings and the finals sessions each afternoon. Great Britain are also entered in the men's 5000m relay, with the team selected on the day.

Building on Vancouver
Treacy produced his strongest run of the opening weekend in the 1500m, winning his quarterfinal to reach the semifinals, while Willem Murray raced through multiple rounds in all three individual distances. Annabelle Green fought back through the repechages to reach the repechage semifinals in all three women's distances, and she is Great Britain's sole women's entry in Montreal.
Albie Barlow, Joseph Armstrong and Adam Hill return for their second World Tour weekend of the season after gaining valuable experience in Vancouver, where all three were part of the men's relay squad.
