Today marks the final day of David Hartley’s time on the BIS board. He was initially appointed as the Director of Development in 2012, moving on to become President and Vice Chair.
As a board member for 9 years his dedication to ensuring the organisation continued to improve and advance was unwavering. He was an integral part of the adoption of the current articles and a key player in making sure BIS is compliant with the Governments Sports Code.
As the one of the youngest board directors in the history of our association and the first President of British Ice Skating the sport owes him a huge debt of gratitude.
On his final day he said: “It’s been a privilege to serve the membership over the last 9 years. I’m humbled to see the positive changes that have happened during my time and believe that BIS is in a strong position for the future with the right people leading the organisation. Thank you to all the members for their support over the past 9 years and good luck to whoever is elected as my successor”
