Four British skaters set for opening ISU Junior Grand Prix

Connor Bray, Lowenna Prigg, Sophia Bushell and Alex Lapsky will represent Great Britain at the opening ISU Junior Grand Prix set to take place in France, Courchevel this week.

Prigg will skate in the Women’s Singles that opens the competition at 13:00 on Thursday 25th. Bray will then follow in the Men’s Singles from 18:00. Bushell and Lapsky, skating in their second Junior Grand Prix together, will perform their Rhythm Dance on Friday as the Ice Dance gets underway from 13:30.

Bray, who won a Junior silver medal at the 2020 British Championships, is looking to relish the opportunity. He said: “I have grabbed this chance of competing in the JGP at my last year of junior.

"It was a long road to this. I’m very thrilled that I can be in part of the event.

I came back from Japan in March and reunited with my coaches, I’ve been training with them for the last 5 months. They have waited for me to come back to the UK for 20 months. I do appreciate they still cared for me as they were giving me zoom lessons even though the time difference we had. I hope I can do what I have practiced with them and will be satisfied with my performance.”

Lowenna Prigg will make step up to the Junior level, making her Junior Grand Prix debut. The 17-year-old Oxford-based skater won the Advanced Novice title at the 2021 British Championships.
