The GB Short Track Speed Skating Performance and Senior Development team has been officially announced.
Niall Treacy, who made his Olympic debut in Beijing last year, will lead the team alongside Peter Riches, Theo Collins, Jonathan Moody and Westley Yates. This will be the team for the first half of the season to compete for GB at the World Cup series, with the Performance selection Event in January selecting the team for the second half of the season.
The team was confirmed after a day of racing in Nottingham as part of a selection event.
Head Coach, Richard Shoebridge said: “I was really pleased with the performances at the squad selection. The hard work that the skaters have been putting in this summer is really paying off. The team have all bought into the journey and vision of what we are trying to achieve.”
The first two World Cups of the season take place in Montreal from 20th-22nd October with World Cup 2 from the 27th-29th October in the same venue.
Shoebridge added: “I’m very excited to see where we are in comparison to the rest of the world and get the season underway.”
