The Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating Performance Squad has been revealed for the upcoming Olympic season. The team will compete at the World and European Championships, as well as World Cups. Each skater will be racing over the coming months for places at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Kathryn Thomson, Elise Christie and Holly Hoyland make up the core women’s team. They will race in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m with Isabelle Roberts reserve for all distances. Charlotte Hayward is the team’s non-travelling reserve.
The men’s team is made up of Farrell Treacy, Jonathan Moody, Niall Treacy, Ethan Treacy and Westley Yates. The team's non-travelling reserve is Theo Collins.
Jonathan Moody, alongside Treacy brothers Farrell and Niall have been selected for the 1500m. Farrell is replaced by Niall Treacy for the 500m with Niall, Farrell and Jonathan Moody the three set to compete in the 1000m.
Jon Eley, Performance and Talent Manager at British Ice Skating, said: “This squad has been selected off the back of some really tough racing. An Olympic season brings added pressure but also the chance for these athletes to make a name for themselves.
The Olympic games will be a huge opportunity for this group of skaters to go out and perform on the biggest stage.

The first test for the new team will be a World Cup meet in Beijing that begins on the 21st October. The competition will be at the Capital Indoor Arena that will host all Short Track events just five months later at the Olympic Games.
