Following on from our recent communication with members, the Singles and Pairs Technical Advisory Committee and Senior Management at British Ice Skating have worked together to make some amendments which we hope will be beneficial for skaters struggling to meet the minimum scores: For the August Qualifier 2023 we will be accepting scores within the range of approximately 10% (highlighted in the table in brackets is the required score which is available in the guidance document below). Please note: the non bracketed score will have to be achieved to compete in the Championship.
If you are trying to obtain the score to be eligible to compete at a qualifier but have not been able to do so because you have never been able to attend an event at the level (including all events up to and including Robin Hood Trophy July 2023) please complete the below form. Skaters must still hold all relevant parts - Skills, Technical & Components at that level. Skaters eligible will be invited to a closed event scheduled for the week of 21st of August 2023. If the event is oversubscribed, priority will be given to Advanced Novice, Junior and Senior skaters as they have less time to qualify for the championships.
Skaters who are currently competing at the qualifier but wish to skate at a different level may be able to transfer - please indicate this in the form. They will not be able to do both.
Extended Registration Deadline
Due to the qualifying score complications facing some skaters, we have extended the registration deadline for our August Qualifier to Friday 28 July at 12 noon.
PLEASE NOTE: Evidencing your achieved qualifying score is still required as previously advised - if you have not yet done so, please complete this form (this includes skaters whose scores now qualify them based on the amended guidance document above):
Once you have submitted your score and evidence, be aware it will take our admin team some time to process them and update your profile, it will not update immediately.
We hope these measures help; we're continuing to monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed of any further updates, BIS Team
