The ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2025 took place last week, with a full team of up and coming British skaters taking to the world stage in Debrecen, Hungary - a fantastic opportunity for these young athletes to gain experience and develop their competitive performance skills.

🇬🇧 MIMI MARLER DAVIES & JOSEPH BLACK
Junior Ice Dance
Rhythm Dance: 43.14 (20th) / Free Dance: 61.17 (20th)
Overall: 104.31 (20th)
Reigning British Junior Ice Dance Champions Marler Davies and Black secured qualification for the free dance in a fantastic achievement for their first junior season! On the experience they said:
“We were so grateful for the opportunity to skate on the world stage, and it was amazing to achieve our goal of qualifying for the free dance. Getting to mix with so many talented skaters and coaches across disciplines, both in the British team and the wider field, made the event extremely enjoyable and a brilliant learning experience. We have to thank our coaches, our team leader Tamara and British Ice Skating for the wonderful opportunity.”

To even qualify for Great Britain is a massive achievement in itself and it was wonderful to be part of it. 🇬🇧 ALICE SMITH
Junior Women
Short Program: 43.45 (39th)
Alice was the youngest athlete at this year's competition; on the experience her coach Umar Oztasdelen said:
“This year’s Junior Women category was one of the strongest in recent years - despite this Alice had a good technical score in the competition. She learned a lot during this competition and will have better overall results in the upcoming international competitions.
"My experience during the Junior Worlds was extraordinary. It was my first international competition with the BIS Team, and I enjoyed every second of it!"

🇬🇧 ZARAH WOOD & ALEX LAPSKY
Junior Pairs
Short Program: 43.23 (19th)
In just their second season competing together, Wood and Lapsky said of their experience at the Championships:
“Our Junior Worlds experience was incredible we are so lucky to be surrounded by such a loving and supportive group of British skaters that made the experience even more enjoyable."
