It was a successful opening day of the World Figure Skating Championships for the GB squad as Natasha McKay qualified for the Women's Free Skate and the Pair of Zoe Jones and Chris Boyadji made it into the top ten with their Short Program.
Speaking before the competition McKay said she was determined to go out and put down the best performance possible. She certainly did that, as she skated a wonderful clean routine that was awarded 55.71.
Three weeks on from her Olympic debut, McKay went into third place after the first group. Aiming for a top 24 place to make it through to the Free Skate she endured a nervous until her place was confirmed. She will be first on the ice on Friday at 17:07, a performance that will be shown live on the BBC iPlayer & BBC Sport App.
Zoe Jones and Chris Boyadji scored a season's best as they ended the Pairs Short Program in 10th place. Their score of 49.67 gives them a golden opportunity to finish in the top ten. The Pair, skating at their fifth World Championships together, drew the words "phenomenal, just incredible" from the commentators as they enjoyed the ovation from a healthy sized crowd in Montpellier.
They will be hoping for the same reaction from the crowd as they show off their Free Skate tomorrow evening. You can watch that live on the BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport App.
