We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Volunteer Membership, a lower cost membership category better suited for many of our BIS volunteers, providing a more cost-effective option for volunteers who don't require access to the full range of BIS Membership Benefits.
Who's Eligible?
Individuals who are active volunteers, including judges, technical officials and test organisers, who are on the BIS Volunteer or Officials' Directory are eligible for the Volunteer Membership.
As this new membership category only provides access to a limited range of benefits, however, it is not suitable for any individual who is:
Taking part in National Tests, competitions, or BIS camps and courses,
An active BIS-licensed coach
A member of the BIS Board or Technical Advisory Committees.
What's Included?
Included in the Volunteer Membership are the following:
Liability and Personal Accident Insurances
Access to volunteering at BIS Events
Access to BIS news and direct updates
Voting rights at Annual General Meetings and Emergency General Meetings
The following benefits, included in our Associate and Full Memberships, are not included in our Volunteer Membership:
Eligibility to take National Tests
Ability to enter Competitions
Ability to enter BIS member-only camps and courses
Cost and How to Apply
Our Volunteer Membership costs £25 per year, and can be applied for in the same way as our other memberships via Sport:80.
Terms and Conditions
Our Volunteer Membership is available for purchase on an annual basis only, is non-transferrable, and cannot be upgraded or refunded - Volunteer Members who wish to change to Associate or Full membership will need to pay the full membership price to do so, without receiving a refund for their part-used Volunteer membership.
If you currently holding Full or Associate membership but wish to move to the Volunteer Membership, please note that no partial refunds are available; we would recommend making the change the next time your membership is up for renewal.
