The GB Short Track Speed Skating Junior Development team for the Junior World Cups has today been officially announced.
Adam Hill, who has skated the last two Junior World Championships, will lead the team alongside Willem Murray, Freddie Polak and Elliot Baker. Chloe Cameron, who is based in Calgary, is rewarded with selection following her hard work and development in recent years.
The Junior World Cups take place for the first time this season as a newly formed ISU series for junior skaters across the world. The Series takes place over 3 events throughout the season.
This will be the team for the first half of the season to compete for GB at the Junior World Cup series, with the Performance selection Event in January selecting the team for the second half of the season.
“I was really pleased with the development of our junior skaters over the summer, and we look forward to seeing them compete with the world's best juniors
“For most of the team it will be their first experience on the world stage and with this being the first season of the Junior World Cup series we are delighted to have selected such a young exciting team”. - BIS Coach, Billy Simms
The first two Junior World Cups of the season take place in Leeuwarden, Netherlands from 25th – 26th November with World Cup 2 from the 2nd – 3rd December in the same venue.
