We’re delighted to announce our 2023 Short Track Speed Skating Performance Selection Event to select the Great Britain Senior Performance Team and Senior and Junior Development teams for the 2023/24 season.

The 2023 short track speed skating selection event will be held at the National Ice Centre, Nottingham on Friday 8th September to select the GB Senior Performance Team and Senior and Junior Development teams for the 2023/24 season.
The event will run on 8th September as an open event, under ISU/BIS racing rules. There will be races in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m. Skaters who wish to enter will have to pay an entry fee of £30.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to enter skaters must meet the eligibility criteria set out below:
Skaters must be born before July 1st, 2008 (Junior B and above)
Minimum Standard Women (only need one of these times):
· 500m – 50.80
· 1000m – 1.49.38
· 1500m – 2.46.44
Minimum Standard Men (only need one of these times):
· 500m – 48.70
· 1000m – 1.40.14
· 1500m – 2.38.39
Minimum standards must have been achieved on the 2022/23 or current 2023/24 Season.
All entrants must also:
1. Hold current BIS membership;
2. Hold a British passport or Clearance Certificate to skate for GBR;
3. Be of the correct age and standard (where applicable) for the event as per the official Announcement and related ISU Communications;
4. Hold Full Eligible status as per BIS publications on Eligibility;
5. Adherence to BIS General Rules,Codes of Conductand any AthleteAgreement applicable to the individual; and
6. Not be serving any suspension relating to anti-doping or disciplinary offences.
Selection Information
The BIS 2023/24 STSS International Selection Manual will be published in the coming weeks, with the BIS Short Track Speed Skating Performance Selection Event selecting skaters for the following competitions.
· ISU World Cups 1-4
· ISU Junior World Cups 1-2
· ISU European Championships
