British Ice Skating, in conjunction with the Ice Dance TAC, has considered the ISU Solo Dance Criteria and the financial impact of the requirements on the viability of club events. The decision has been taken to depart from the ISU Solo Dance Criteria in respect of the Beginner to Advanced Novice Pattern Dance requirements. For these categories, at Solo Dance Series Qualifier Events, one (1) Pattern Dance will be skated. The Pattern Dance will be drawn at the same time as the starting order and announced by the organising committee. At the British Solo Ice Dance Championships 2024, two (2) Pattern Dances will be skated. The Pattern Dances for each category remain as per the National Solo Dance Criteria or ISU Solo Dance Criteria, as appropriate. The National Solo Dance Criteria has been updated accordingly and re-published to the Technical Guidance page.
