Team GBR Secures Four Olympic Figure Skating Spots for Milano-Cortina 2026

Following a week of stellar performances at the 2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships last week in Boston, we are thrilled to confirm the team has officially secured four Olympic quota places for Team GB for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina.

This marks a huge milestone for British figure skating and reflects the continued strength and momentum across all disciplines. Thanks to the dedication and excellence of the athletes who competed at Worlds, Great Britain has earned:

  • 1 spot in Ladies’ Singles – secured by Kristen Spours

  • 1 spot in Pairs – secured by Anastasia Vaipan-Law & Luke Digby

  • 2 spots in Ice Dance – secured by Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson and Phebe Bekker & James Hernandez

These spots were secured based on the ISU’s Olympic qualification criteria, which allocate quota places to countries based on results at the World Championships and additional qualification events. Earning four Olympic berths is a significant achievement for a nation with a growing presence in international figure skating — and is a testament to the progress made in recent seasons.

While the athletes who will ultimately represent Great Britain in these Olympic spots have yet to be selected, this result ensures that GB will have representation across three disciplines at the Games. The official Olympic team selection process will take place later in the 2025–26 season and will follow British Ice Skating's nomination policy and the British Olympic Association’s final selection.

This achievement would not have been possible without the combined efforts of the athletes, their coaching teams, choreographers, federation support staff, and the wider skating community. Each performance at the World Championships contributed to this historic result, and the dedication shown behind the scenes deserves just as much recognition.

With the Milano-Cortina Games now on the horizon, the next chapter begins. Over the coming months, athletes will continue training, competing, and striving to put their names forward for Olympic selection. And while only a select few will make the final team, the entire British skating community can be proud of what’s been achieved so far.

Congratulations once again to all the athletes, their coaches, support teams, and everyone involved in securing these Olympic spots. The road to Milano-Cortina is well and truly underway — and Great Britain is ready to make its mark.
