Team Icicles Senior Shine at the 2025 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships

The 2025 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Helsinki, Finland, was a momentous occasion for Team Icicles Senior, who secured 17th place overall with a score of 123.48—an improvement from last year and their best result at the World Championships to date. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work the team has put in throughout the season.

The atmosphere in Helsinki was electric, with the crowd offering enthusiastic support to all the teams. The energy in the arena added to the excitement, fuelling Team Icicles Senior’s performances and making it an unforgettable experience for both the skaters and the audience.

The team’s short program, set to a dynamic mix of "Insomnia" and "The Final Countdown," was filled with energy and dramatic flair. As Chris Howarth from the ISU commentary team noted, “Lots of drama, plenty of energy, and good speed across the ice—that’s what you want!” Their performance was a standout from their season, highlighting their skill and the precision of their routine.

Their free skate offered a more classical approach, with music by Hans Zimmer and Jacob Shea. The sweeping orchestral compositions brought a sense of depth and emotion to their routine, contrasting beautifully with the intensity of the short program. Every synchronized movement in the free skate showcased the team's continued growth over the past year, as they demonstrated both technical skill and artistic expression.

The 17th place finish is a significant milestone for Team Icicles Senior, highlighting the progress they’ve made since last year’s competition. It’s a result that reflects their hard work, resilience, and dedication to the sport, and it sets a strong foundation for the future. As the synchronized skating season comes to a close, Team Icicles Senior can be proud of their achievements this year. Their performance in Helsinki marks a strong end to a successful season and serves as a springboard for continued development.

A huge thank you and congratulations goes to the coaches, choreographers, support staff, and fans who have supported the team every step of the way. Their unwavering encouragement has been crucial to the team’s success and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Team Icicles Senior!
