Multiple roles are up for election on our Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) this November.
Our TACs are an essential way for members' voices to influence the direction of the organisation and help us to take ice skating to new heights. If you think you could help us achieve this vision, consider nominating yourself for a role today!
What do TAC members do?
Members of TACs are volunteers who provide impartial advice and input in areas of their specific skills, knowledge and expertise. TAC guidance then influences relevant areas of British Ice Skating's work and decision-making.
What roles are available?
18 roles on six different TACs are up for election, with openings suitable for a wide range of backgrounds and interests. Whatever your role in the ice skating community, there's likely a TAC position that you could stand for.
How does the election work?
1) Submit Your Nomination: you'll need to find two other BIS members to support your nomination, and submit these details plus other supporting information through a few short forms (deadline: 5pm 25th Oct).
2) Candidate Information Published: on 31st Oct candidate information will be published online so members can see who is standing for each role and find out a bit more about them.
3) Voting Opens: from 1st-22nd November members will be able vote for their chosen candidates via postal ballot.
4) Results Announced: election results will be announced at the 2024 AGM on 30th November.
Who can be a TAC member?
Firstly, you must be a Full Annual or Life Member of British Ice Skating, aged 18 or over. You must also meet the specific requirements for the vacancy you’re interested in - these are laid out in the Terms of Reference for the relevant TAC (see our AGM page here.) There are also a few disqualifying criteria - these are laid out in our Articles of Association (see page 25, clause 20.5)
If you’re unsure of your eligibility, please email parul.jani@iceskating.org.uk who will be able to help.
